Shiromi Zakana no Amazu Ankake- White Fish with Sweet and Sour Gravy

It made me laugh so much when I walked home from the store carrying fish, rice and soy sauce. Could I be more Asian than that!?

Ready in: 20 minutes

Ingredients for two:
2 white fish fillets (cod, snapper or tilapia)
1 tablespoon of Sake or white wine
2 mushrooms, sliced
Corn starch
<Prepare the following in a pan>
5 slices of ginger
1/4 onion, sliced
1/4 red pepper, sliced
2 tablespoons of sesame oil
<Prepare sauce in a bowl>
3 tablespoons of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of white vinegar (I prefer using rice vinegar because it has stronger taste.)
2 tablespoons of sugar
100ml of chicken broth (100ml of warm water+1 tea spoon of chicken broth powder)

Step 1: In a dish, place fish and add Sake for 10 minutes.
<Note> Sake removes fish odor.

Step 2: Heat up the pan and brown onions.

Step 3: Add mushrooms and the sauce.

Step 4: Put some corn starch on both sides of the fish, and grill it with some sesame oil.

Step 5: Put 2 teaspoons of corn starch in a cup, and add 1 tablespoon of water. Add it in the sauce pan to make gravy.

Step 7: Place the grilled fish, and add the sauce on top.
