As represented by Teppanyaki or Shushi bar counter, Japanese people enjoy watching how food is made while eating. We have so many dishes which we cook at the table such as Nabe or Sukiyaki.
Okonomiyaki is the cheapest and easiest Teppanyaki food. Of course we cook it at the table in Japan!
Ingredients for two:
2 slices of bacon
4 cabbage leaves
Chopped green onions
Any kinds of vegetables
<Prepare the following in a bowl>
1 cup of flour
1 egg
2 teaspoons of Dashi
2 tablespoons of corn starch
1 teaspoon of baking powder
2 cups of water
<Sauce>
2 tablespoons of ketchup
1 tablespoon of worcestersauce
Mayonnaise
Step 1: Make batter.
Step 2: Add vegetables, and then mix again.
Step 3: Cook bacon first.
Step 4: Put 1 scoop of batter on bacon.
Step 5: Flip it over.
Step 6: Put sauce on top.
Step 7: Add mayonnaise.
Dress it with Nori and Katsuobushi if you like. |
